How to Survive the Coming Food Scarcity

It’s been a crazy year with panic buying, food shortages, stockpiling…

And lack of toilet paper.

On top of it all, if you haven’t noticed yet, you will:

Price inflation is happening across the board.

Milk and eggs are more expensive now than even just a few weeks ago.

And when prices go up like this, and food becomes scarce, people get desperate.

So far, the events causing shortages haven’t led to full blown societal meltdown — but that isn’t guaranteed.

If you find yourself in a situation without food, in the middle of an urban jungle, how are you going to feed your family?

Here are a few potential ways to do it…

#1: Stores with Groceries, Not Grocery Stores

When, as they say, SHTF it’s truly “everyone for themselves.”

Grocery stores are going to be madhouses. The supply chain will be strained and break.

Going there will likely yield little food and a high probability of danger.

Instead, try going to discount stores that specialize in non-grocery merchandise.

These are things like home goods, fashion and bulk items. It won’t be things you normally have on the dinner table, but it’s food.

Look for things like:

  • Healthy snacks like nuts.
  • Specialty diet items (i.e. vegan, keto and gluten free.)
  • Bakeware and storage items.

#2: High Calorie Homesteading

Depending on the breakdown, you may have to shelter in place.

That’s when you need food options available that doesn’t require you to travel anywhere to get food.

This could be having chickens, whether that’s you or a neighbor, or someone you know down the street, within a short walk on foot.

As few as three laying hens provide around 500 calories per day. Not enough to survive for very long, but if you keep a few dozen on hand, it could last weeks.

If you can’t grow or keep anything on your property, think high calorie per square foot of storage. Things like:

  • Pancake, baking mix.
  • Beans and legumes.
  • Dried potatoes and roots.

#3: Worst Case: Forage and Find

Believe it or not, there are many forageable plants, nuts and fruit to find in urban areas.

Just a few of these include:

  • Dandelions: Dandelions manage to grow through sidewalks and you can eat them or make them into a tea. These plants are edible from root to flower.
  • Crabapples: Many people think these aren’t edible, but the fruit is just very tart. In a pinch, it’ll keep you going.
  • Clover: It’s everywhere, edible and full of vitamins.

Make sure you’re able to positively identify each plant before consumption.

You don’t want to eat something that isn’t what you thought.

Lastly, know how to defend yourself and your home.

As I mentioned, hungry people are desperate people.

Don’t become a victim to roving mobs and people in a panic.

Know how to keep you and your family safe. And if it comes to it, know how to defend your food.

It’s just as bad to have food and lose it as it is to not have it at all.

And if last year has shown us one thing, it’s how easy supply lines break down.

Do you have a plan for what you’re going to do when (another) real crisis hits?

Watch this, never worry about where your next meal is coming from again.

This emergency food plan isn’t some cardboard MRE. It’s real food you actually want to eat while still having a shelflife of 25 years!

Plus, no artificial ingredients or GMOs. Just good-tasting, clean and nutritious food.
